Qatar has reaffirmed its commitment to advancing artificial intelligence and technology cooperation after participating in the Pax Silica Summit in Washington, DC, where officials discussed trade, investment and digital innovation.
Representing the State of Qatar, Minister of State for Foreign Trade Affairs Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Sayed attended the summit, held from June 23 to 25, alongside government representatives and private sector leaders from member countries of the Pax Silica initiative.
During the event, Qatar and the United States signed the Joint Statement on AI Opportunity, an agreement attached to the Pax Silica Declaration signed earlier this year. The statement is intended to strengthen bilateral cooperation in artificial intelligence and support broader collaboration on advanced technologies.
On the sidelines of the summit, Al Sayed held a series of bilateral meetings with senior officials from the United States, the UAE, Kazakhstan, Singapore and the Philippines. Discussions focused on expanding trade and investment, enhancing economic cooperation, developing artificial intelligence, strengthening digital economies and improving supply chain resilience.
The minister also met representatives of several international companies to highlight investment opportunities in Qatar, particularly in artificial intelligence, advanced technology, the digital economy and strategic supply chains.
Qatar and the United States signed the Pax Silica Declaration in January as part of efforts to deepen cooperation in advanced technologies and supply chain security while supporting long-term economic resilience and stability.
