Oman And Qatar Discuss Iran Talks And Stability

Oman and Qatar have reaffirmed their support for diplomatic efforts aimed at reducing regional tensions during high-level talks held in Muscat on Wednesday.

Sultan Haitham bin Tarik received Qatar’s Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani, at Al Baraka Palace, where the two sides reviewed developments in ongoing negotiations involving the United States and Iran.

During the meeting, the Qatari official conveyed greetings from Qatar’s Emir, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, along with wishes for continued prosperity for Oman and its people. Sultan Haitham asked that his greetings be conveyed in return to the Qatari leadership and people.

The discussions focused on diplomatic efforts to bring an end to the current conflict and advance a comprehensive settlement to the wider crisis. Both sides also reviewed the progress of ongoing negotiations being facilitated through regional mediation efforts.

Sultan Haitham stressed the importance of maintaining momentum in diplomatic engagement to promote security and stability across the region. He also highlighted the value of cooperation among regional and international partners in supporting peaceful solutions to disputes.

For his part, Sheikh Mohammed praised Oman’s role in encouraging dialogue and facilitating communication between different parties. He commended Muscat’s longstanding diplomatic approach and its efforts to help bridge differences during periods of regional tension.

The meeting was attended by senior officials from both countries, including Oman’s Foreign Minister Badr Al Busaidi and a number of Qatari government and national security officials.

The talks reflect continued coordination between Oman and Qatar on regional issues, with both countries emphasising diplomacy as a key path toward stability and de-escalation in the Gulf.
