Oman Armed Forces Shooting Team Wins UK Titles

The Sultan’s Armed Forces Shooting Team from Oman has secured a series of top honours at major rifle championships held in the United Kingdom, competing against international military and civilian teams.

The competitions, organised by the British Army Rifle Association and the National Rifle Association, took place at the Lydd and Hythe ranges and brought together participants from several countries.

The Omani team claimed five trophies in the British Army Rifle Association events, along with two additional trophies and multiple first-place finishes in National Rifle Association contests.

Among the standout achievements, Warrant Officer Azzan bin Abdullah bin Nasser Al Abri of the Royal Guard of Oman received the King’s Medal for Shooting in the international category, one of the event’s most prestigious individual awards.

Other notable results included First Lieutenant Saeed bin Salem Al Mishiqri of the Royal Oman Police, who secured first place in the Re-Organisation of the Butts competition, and Sergeant Hamad bin Nasser Al Kiyoumi of the Royal Air Force of Oman, who topped the Defence competition.

Lieutenant Colonel Staff Musallam bin Abdullah Al Subhi, head of the Omani delegation, said the results reflected the team’s high level of preparation and training, noting the strong competition from British and international participants.

The championships continue to serve as a platform for marksmanship excellence and international military sporting exchange.
