Kuwait Closes Airspace Amid Iranian Attacks

Kuwait temporarily closed its airspace early Thursday following Iranian attacks that raised security concerns across the Gulf, the country’s civil aviation authority said.

The General Authority of Civil Aviation announced that the closure took effect at 4:50 a.m., with flights diverted to alternative airports as a precautionary measure to ensure the safety of passengers and aviation operations.

In a statement, the authority said the decision was taken after Kuwait was subjected to what it described as Iranian aggression, warning that the developments posed potential risks to civil aviation in the region.

Officials said the situation is being monitored closely in coordination with relevant state authorities, adding that airspace operations would resume once security threats are assessed to have ended.

The authority also urged airlines and travellers to follow official updates and comply with all instructions issued during the temporary suspension.
