Kuwait, China Discuss Progress On Development Projects

Kuwaiti and Chinese officials have reviewed the progress of several joint infrastructure and development projects as both countries seek to deepen economic cooperation and advance long-term strategic partnerships.

The discussions took place during a meeting in Kuwait City between Minister of Public Works Noura Al-Mashaan, Minister of State for Municipal Affairs and Housing Abdullatif Al-Meshari, and Chinese Ambassador Yang Xin.

According to a statement released after the meeting, the talks focused on ongoing projects, implementation timelines and ways to strengthen coordination between both sides.

Al-Mashaan described cooperation between Kuwait and China as an important part of the country’s broader development plans, particularly in projects linked to public services and infrastructure modernization. She said authorities remain committed to ensuring projects are completed according to international technical standards.

The Chinese ambassador reaffirmed Beijing’s support for development cooperation with Kuwait and expressed interest in expanding collaboration through additional joint initiatives across key sectors.

Officials also reviewed updates related to the Kabd North Wastewater Treatment Plant project and workers’ city developments, while discussing measures aimed at accelerating implementation and overcoming logistical challenges.

The meeting further examined cooperation in urban planning and infrastructure, with both sides emphasizing the need for continued coordination to support sustainable development goals and national economic growth.

Both countries reiterated their commitment to maintaining close follow-up on ongoing projects and ensuring development initiatives move forward within approved schedules.
