Oman has signed agreements for the development of two major tourism projects, including a four-star resort in Al Hamra in Al Dakhiliyah Governorate and a five-star hotel in Mirbat in Dhofar Governorate, with combined investment exceeding OMR12 million.
The agreements were signed by the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism as part of efforts to expand the country’s tourism infrastructure and attract further investment into the hospitality sector. Officials say the projects align with national plans to diversify the economy and strengthen non-oil revenues.
The announcement of Contracts signed for two new tourism projects in Oman reflects ongoing government efforts to develop strategic destinations across the Sultanate. The projects are expected to support job creation and improve tourism services in key regions known for their natural and cultural attractions.
A second reference to Contracts signed for two new tourism projects in Oman comes in the context of wider investment programs aimed at upgrading hotel capacity and encouraging private sector participation in tourism development.
The planned resort in Al Hamra will cover around 25,000 square metres and is expected to integrate leisure and adventure tourism experiences. Meanwhile, the Mirbat hotel project will include 121 rooms along with conference facilities, dining spaces and recreational amenities.
Officials said both projects are intended to enhance visitor experiences while promoting sustainable tourism development and supporting local communities in Al Dakhiliyah and Dhofar.
