The Kuwait Red Crescent Society launched its “United in Humanity” initiative in Kuwait on Tuesday to mark World Red Cross and Red Crescent Day, with a focus on volunteerism and humanitarian cooperation.
Held at The Avenues Mall, the event highlighted the role of humanitarian organisations in responding to crises, natural disasters and growing global emergencies.
KRCS Chairman Khaled Al-Mughamis said the occasion reflects the importance of collective humanitarian action at a time when conflicts and humanitarian challenges are increasing across several regions. He noted that the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement continues to play a key role in delivering aid and supporting vulnerable communities worldwide.
Organised in cooperation with the International Committee of the Red Cross, the event aimed to raise awareness about humanitarian principles and showcase the work carried out by volunteers in Kuwait and abroad.
Al-Mughamis said the society remains committed to promoting volunteer culture among young people and strengthening community participation in relief efforts. He added that partnerships with regional and international organisations would continue as Kuwait expands its humanitarian engagement.
Humanitarian organisations across the Gulf have increasingly focused on volunteer-driven initiatives in recent years, particularly in response to regional conflicts, displacement crises and natural disasters affecting different parts of the world.
