UAE Air Defenses Repel Missile and Drone Attack, Maintain High Alert

UAE air defenses intercept missiles and drones as regional tensions continue to rise across the Gulf. The Ministry of Defence confirmed that systems successfully stopped a large-scale aerial attack on April 8.

Officials reported that defense units intercepted 17 ballistic missiles and 35 drones launched from Iran. These actions prevented damage and protected key areas across the United Arab Emirates. Moreover, authorities confirmed that no new injuries or fatalities occurred during the latest incident.

At the same time, the Ministry emphasized that forces remain on high alert. Teams continue monitoring the situation closely and stand ready to respond to any new threats. This readiness reflects the country’s focus on maintaining stability during a period of heightened risk.

Since the beginning of the attacks, UAE air defenses intercept missiles and drones on a much larger scale. Officials stated that forces have stopped 537 ballistic missiles, 26 cruise missiles, and 2,256 unmanned aerial vehicles. These figures highlight the intensity of the ongoing conflict and the scale of defensive operations.

Despite the successful interceptions, earlier attacks caused casualties. Authorities confirmed that two Emirati personnel lost their lives. In addition, a Moroccan civilian working with the armed forces also died. Furthermore, civilian fatalities reached ten people from multiple nationalities.

Injuries have also increased during the conflict. Reports show that 224 people sustained injuries, including individuals from various countries. Emergency teams continue providing medical care and support for those affected.

Officials stress that national security remains a top priority. UAE air defenses intercept missiles and drones to protect infrastructure and ensure public safety. Leaders continue coordinating with regional and international partners to reduce risks and prevent further escalation.

The latest developments come as tensions across the Middle East remain high. Ongoing attacks and countermeasures continue to affect stability in the region. However, UAE authorities maintain confidence in their defense capabilities and preparedness.

The situation underscores the importance of rapid response systems and strong coordination. As threats evolve, UAE air defenses intercept missiles and drones while reinforcing the country’s commitment to security and resilience.
