Kuwait Forces Intercept Missiles and Drones, Minor Injuries from Debris

Kuwait’s security agencies actively respond to missile and drone threats, keeping citizens safe amid rising regional tensions. Over the past 24 hours, explosive ordnance disposal teams, the Armed Forces, and the National Guard worked to manage falling debris and intercepted hostile targets.

The Ministry of Interior reported that its explosive ordnance disposal teams handled 21 incidents involving debris from intercepted missiles and drones. These incidents caused minor injuries but no fatalities. Since the onset of attacks, the total debris-related reports have risen to 699.

Brigadier General Nasser Buslaib, Director General of the General Department of Security Media, urged citizens and residents to avoid damaged areas and unidentified objects until emergency teams arrive. He also warned against sharing false reports online and confirmed that legal actions would target those spreading misinformation.

The Ministry of Defense confirmed that Kuwait’s Armed Forces detected and intercepted 14 ballistic missiles, two cruise missiles, and 46 hostile drones in the nation’s airspace. Colonel Saud Al-Atwan stated that debris from interceptions caused injuries in a northern residential area. Emergency teams responded promptly to all affected sites.

Colonel Al-Atwan added that the Ground Force Engineering Explosive Ordnance Disposal team handled 22 reports, while Army Firefighting units addressed three other incidents. He emphasized that the Armed Forces maintain discipline and readiness to strengthen national security.

Brigadier General Dr Jadaan Fadhel, spokesperson for the Kuwait National Guard, said the duty force intercepted two drones and two UAVs near secured sites. He stressed that these operations protect critical infrastructure and deter potential threats.

Authorities continue to coordinate between the Army, Police, Civil Defense, and National Guard to safeguard Kuwait’s sovereignty, security, and stability. They also reminded the public to follow official guidance, remain alert, and support security operations to maintain safety and order across the country.
