Kuwait Security Efforts Intensify Amid Regional Attacks and Diplomatic Coordination

The Kuwait security efforts are intensifying as the government condemns recent attacks on vital facilities and strengthens regional cooperation. The Cabinet reviewed the latest developments and reaffirmed Kuwait’s readiness to protect citizens and infrastructure.

During the weekly meeting, the Council of Ministers addressed attacks on Kuwait International Airport, ports, and energy facilities. Officials highlighted the death of an Indian worker at a power and water plant and material damage caused by drone and missile strikes. These incidents demonstrate the urgency of Kuwait’s security measures.

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs Shareeda Abdullah Al-Maousherji noted that the Crown Prince received international calls expressing solidarity. Latvia, Bahrain, and Pakistan reaffirmed support for Kuwait and condemned Iranian strikes as violations of sovereignty. Consequently, Kuwait is reinforcing diplomatic and regional ties.

The Cabinet emphasized Gulf unity, stating that threats to GCC countries directly affect Kuwait. Officials praised Bahrain for thwarting a Hezbollah-linked plot. They also condemned attacks on residences of Kurdish leaders Nechirvan Barzani and Masoud Barzani.

Kuwait’s ministers reviewed ongoing military and defense updates. Minister of Defense Sheikh Abdullah Ali Abdullah Al-Salem Al-Sabah reported measures to ensure readiness against further attacks. In addition, Minister of Oil Tareq Suleiman Al-Roumi outlined the impact on Kuwaiti tankers, including a fire aboard the “Al-Salmi” off the UAE coast.

Diplomatic actions include summoning the Iranian ambassador, protesting attacks via official notes, and coordinating with Iraq regarding armed group activities. Kuwait also participates in broader international discussions. Arab League foreign ministers condemned attacks on Arab states, while the UN Human Rights Council adopted a resolution condemning strikes and their humanitarian consequences.

Beyond crisis management, the Cabinet highlighted the importance of protecting citizens and ensuring essential supplies. Coordination between ministries remains continuous, including monitoring ports, oil facilities, and urban centers. Authorities are prepared to maintain essential services, including electricity, water, and security.

The Kuwait security efforts extend to strengthening regional and international ties. The Crown Prince emphasized the importance of diplomatic solutions, de-escalation, and cooperation with allies. Gulf and international coordination remain central to Kuwait’s approach to stability and resilience.

The Cabinet’s actions reflect Kuwait’s commitment to safeguard citizens, uphold international law, and reinforce Kuwait security efforts amid regional tensions.
