Oman Landslide Forces Wadi Adai–Al Amerat Road Closure, Traffic Diverted for Safety

The Oman landslide road closure on Wadi Adai–Al Amerat road has disrupted travel and prompted immediate safety measures. Authorities diverted traffic to two lanes to protect motorists until crews cleared debris.

Specialized teams were deployed to assess the situation, remove rocks, and restore safe travel. As a result, motorists were advised to follow traffic instructions and reduce speed.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Transport, Communications, and Information Technology confirmed that access from Al Buraimi to Al Fay is limited to four-wheel drive vehicles. This restriction ensures safety given unstable road conditions.

Teams continue working to reopen the Al Fay–Al Wajajah road. They are clearing debris, inspecting the area, and monitoring potential landslide risks. Authorities aim to restore normal traffic flow as quickly as possible.

In addition, officials emphasized public safety. Drivers must use alternative routes whenever feasible to avoid delays and reduce the risk of accidents. Emergency crews remain on standby to respond to new incidents immediately.

Moreover, authorities encouraged motorists to stay alert and follow signs when approaching affected areas. Safety messages stressed slowing down and maintaining caution near the landslide zone.

The Oman landslide road closure highlights the challenges posed by seasonal weather and terrain in the Wilayat of Al Amerat. Residents and travelers are urged to remain vigilant and adhere to safety instructions.

Authorities also coordinated with local police to manage traffic effectively and prevent congestion. Temporary signage and barriers guide vehicles safely around the affected lanes.

The Oman landslide road closure serves as a reminder of the region’s susceptibility to natural hazards. Continuous monitoring, quick response, and public cooperation are crucial to minimizing risks.
