Royal Air Force of Oman Celebrates Annual Day with Parade and Airshow

The Royal Air Force of Oman Annual Day brought together military personnel, graduates, and community members in a grand celebration. The event highlighted training achievements, skill demonstrations, and the modernization of Oman’s air force.

The ceremony took place at Ghala Base and Sultan Qaboos Air Academy. It coincided with the graduation of the Basic Officer Candidate Course and the Limited Service/University Graduate Officer Candidate Course. Attendees witnessed a full military parade and celebrated the accomplishments of the newest officers.

During the parade, the graduates gave a precise military salute while the RAFO band played the Royal Anthem. Following the salute, the front column of graduates presented an infantry parade led by the Sultan Qaboos Air Academy’s standard. Bands performed military music as the column passed the dais and marched in formation.

The top graduates received awards for their performance. Flying Lieutenant Al Farooq Hamad Al Jabri earned the Sword of Honour for overall first place in the Basic Officer Candidate Course. Air Lieutenant Abdulrahman Nabhan Al Amri received first place for the Limited Service and University Officer Recruits Course. These recognitions reflected the dedication, training, and skill of the graduates.

The ceremony continued with the standard handover from the graduating batch to the incoming batch. New cadets pledged to maintain the Academy’s standard with pride and commitment. Graduates then chanted the anthem of the Royal Air Force of Oman, took the oath of loyalty, and pledged allegiance.

Later, a spectacular airshow featured fighter aircraft demonstrating the capabilities, armament, and training level of the Royal Air Force of Oman. The display highlighted modernization and operational readiness while impressing the audience with aerial skill. The RAFO band concluded the ceremony with a variety of military melodies, showcasing both performance and modern musical equipment.

The celebration included senior military officials, ministers, and invited guests. Overall, the Royal Air Force of Oman Annual Day emphasized training, professionalism, and the strength of Oman’s air force. It also provided a platform for community engagement and appreciation of the military’s role.

In conclusion, the Royal Air Force of Oman Annual Day combined tradition, skill, and innovation. It offered graduates recognition, demonstrated readiness, and reinforced the importance of dedication to service.
