Iraq has reappointed its ambassador to Moscow, signaling renewed focus on improving relations with Russia. This comes almost 19 years after the previous ambassador served.
Abdul Karim Hashem Mustafa will present his credentials to Russian President Vladimir Putin at the Kremlin on Thursday. This step strengthens Iraq’s communication and cooperation with Moscow.
Mustafa has decades of experience in diplomacy. He previously served as Iraq’s ambassador to Morocco and China. Since February 2021, he represented Iraq at the United Nations and other organizations in Geneva. His academic background supports his diplomatic expertise.
