Indian Embassy in Kuwait Marks World Hindi Day With Cultural Celebrations

The Indian Embassy in Kuwait celebrated World Hindi Day on January 10, 2026, emphasizing the promotion of Hindi language. More than 350 participants attended, including students and faculty from all 25 Indian CBSE schools in Kuwait, along with friends of India who actively support Hindi. This gathering highlighted the growing enthusiasm for Hindi and Indian culture among Kuwait’s large Indian diaspora.

Before the event, the embassy held Hindi recitation competitions for students across three age groups. The winners performed at the embassy auditorium during the main celebrations. Faculty members actively joined the performances, presenting beautiful renditions of Hindi poems that displayed creativity and skill.

The embassy awarded the winners of the Hindi Recitation Competition and recognized four Kuwaiti nationals for their knowledge and interest in Hindi. The honorees included a singer, a former national guard officer, a chess federation member, and a business professional. These awards underline the embassy’s commitment to the promotion of Hindi language and its cultural influence beyond India.

The celebration stressed that World Hindi Day, observed annually on January 10, promotes Hindi globally and raises awareness of its cultural and historical significance. Hindi holds a vital position in India and worldwide, thanks to millions of speakers across the diaspora. The event demonstrated how the language strengthens cross-cultural connections and encourages mutual understanding.

The embassy actively promotes Hindi throughout the year with competitions, workshops, and cultural programs. These initiatives help students and local communities engage with Hindi and appreciate its cultural richness. Moreover, the event reinforced Kuwait’s role as a hub for cultural exchange within the Indian diaspora.

Overall, the celebrations highlighted the importance of the promotion of Hindi language in fostering cultural ties. By combining competitions, live performances, and awards, the Indian Embassy in Kuwait ensures that Hindi continues to thrive in both educational and social spaces.
