The Bahrain Space Agency continues expanding the skills and expertise of its national employees. Its efforts reflect the agency’s commitment to building a strong Bahrain space workforce capable of leading in the space sector. Therefore, the agency prioritizes training, education, and awareness programs to enhance human capital.

In 2025, the agency provided specialized, administrative, and academic development opportunities for its employees. A total of 106 staff members benefited from training, including 79 in specialized courses, 22 in administrative programs, and 5 pursuing advanced degrees in space-related fields. Remarkably, women made up 70.4% of the workforce participating in these initiatives, highlighting gender inclusion in talent development.

The agency also achieved notable research outputs during the year. Employees published 23 applied research papers in renowned conferences and journals. Nearly half of these studies were collaborative efforts with local, regional, and international institutions in areas such as cybersecurity, space communications, and project management. Another 17% focused on partnerships with higher education institutions to empower students in artificial intelligence, satellite technologies, remote sensing, space sustainability, data analysis, and satellite imagery.

Acting Head of the Resources and Services Sector, Mariam Mohammed Al-Mulla, emphasized the importance of empowering national talent. She explained that the agency encourages employees to participate in all available local and international opportunities. This approach aims to strengthen their specialized skills and enhance the agency’s reputation in the space sector. She noted that continuous monitoring and support ensure the workforce develops consistently and effectively.

Al-Mulla added that the agency will maintain its commitment to human capital investment despite challenges. The organization encourages employees to utilize available resources to enhance the Kingdom’s international profile. These efforts aim to position Bahrain as a leader in space science, research, and technology, while promoting innovation and knowledge-building across sectors.

Through its sustained investment in staff development and research, the Bahrain Space Agency continues building a robust Bahrain space workforce. Ultimately, these initiatives ensure the Kingdom maintains global competitiveness and advances its leadership ambitions in space exploration and technology.
