Qatar and Azerbaijan Expand Investment Ties Through Joint Business Council

Qatar is actively seeking new investment cooperation opportunities with Azerbaijan to boost trade and diversify its economy. Officials say both countries aim to build long-term economic partnerships. The first Qatar-Azerbaijan Joint Business Council meeting offered a platform to explore these investment cooperation opportunities and guide businesses toward practical steps.

Qatar Chamber organized the meeting with top officials from both countries and representatives from public and private sectors. It coincided with the fourth session of the Joint Economic, Trade, and Technical Committee. The session highlighted both countries’ commitment to strengthening economic ties.

The Minister of State for Foreign Trade Affairs emphasized that the private sector drives trade and investment. He urged decision-makers to seize market potential and implement practical projects. These steps will help both countries maximize recent economic achievements.

Officials highlighted agreements covering trade, technical cooperation, investment protection, and the avoidance of double taxation. These agreements provide security for investors and promote collaboration.

Azerbaijani officials confirmed that the Business Council will strengthen trade between private sectors. They aim to enhance mechanisms for bilateral trade and create wider investment opportunities.
