Bahraini Youth Explore Western Ethics at Cultural Forum

The Abdulrahman Kanoo Cultural Center hosted its thirteenth Youth Forum, focusing on youth cultural awareness and contemporary challenges. The event, titled “Western Ethics and Our Youth’s Place in It,” attracted young people, intellectuals, and individuals interested in youth development.

Presented by youth activist Abdullah bin Saleh, the forum explored the roots of intellectual and ethical changes in the West since the French Revolution. He explained how these shifts influenced concepts of morality, humanism, and societal responsibility. Attendees gained insight into how Western ideas shaped the self-perception of young people over generations.

The speaker highlighted the impact of modern Western thought on society today. He stressed the importance of youth cultural awareness in navigating imported values while preserving local traditions. He also encouraged participants to develop critical thinking skills to balance global influences with their own moral and cultural identity.

Throughout the forum, the discussion emphasized how young people relate to society and religion under the influence of globalization. Participants explored ways to maintain cultural distinctiveness while remaining open to positive global ideas. The dialogue aimed to guide youth in forming responsible, informed, and culturally aware perspectives.

The session concluded with an interactive question-and-answer segment. Attendees actively engaged, asking questions and sharing insights that enriched the discussion. Many highlighted the value of such forums in promoting youth cultural awareness and encouraging thoughtful dialogue on contemporary issues.

The Abdulrahman Kanoo Cultural Center continues to offer programs that address youth aspirations and challenges. These initiatives focus on developing life, social, and academic skills while promoting awareness of cultural identity. By doing so, the center strengthens the ability of young people to contribute meaningfully to society.

Additionally, the forum underscored the importance of fostering a generation that is culturally literate and socially responsible. Participants learned strategies to navigate cultural influences without compromising core values. The emphasis on youth cultural awareness ensures that young people remain connected to their heritage while engaging constructively with global ideas.

Overall, the event reinforced the center’s commitment to empowering Bahraini youth. It provided a platform to discuss ethical, cultural, and intellectual issues, supporting the development of well-rounded, culturally aware, and informed citizens. Youth cultural awareness remains a central theme in shaping Bahrain’s future generations.
