Bahrain National Guard Strengthens Ties with Peninsula Shield Forces

Bahrain’s National Guard hosted the Commander of the Joint Peninsula Shield Forces in a key meeting that emphasized GCC military cooperation. The gathering took place on Tuesday, October 21, at the National Guard Presidency building in Sakhir. The meeting highlighted joint efforts to enhance regional security and stability.

Lieutenant General Abdulaziz bin Saud Al Khalifa, Director of Staff of the National Guard, welcomed Major General Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Ruwais. He praised the Peninsula Shield Forces for promoting GCC military cooperation and acknowledged their key role in securing Gulf countries. Al Khalifa also acknowledged the commander’s contributions to strengthening joint military initiatives among GCC members.

During the meeting, both sides discussed various topics of mutual interest. They explored strategies to improve operational coordination, enhance defense readiness, and foster stronger ties between Bahrain and other Gulf nations. The discussion included ongoing joint exercises, information sharing, and logistical support to ensure rapid response to regional threats.

The meeting also reflected a broader commitment to continuous dialogue and collaboration. Officials emphasized the importance of maintaining stability in the Gulf region through shared security responsibilities. They noted that GCC military cooperation plays a critical role in preventing conflicts and responding effectively to emerging challenges.

Several senior officers attended the meeting, including Major General Hisham Mohammed Al Thawadi, Assistant for Administrative Affairs. Their presence underscored the importance Bahrain places on close cooperation with allied forces. Delegates from both sides agreed on the need to continue regular coordination meetings to align strategies and strengthen defense capabilities.

Moreover, the meeting highlighted the significance of joint training programs and knowledge exchange between Bahrain’s National Guard and other Gulf security forces. Officials emphasized that these initiatives enhance readiness, improve tactical efficiency, and build trust among member countries.

The discussions between Bahrain’s National Guard and the Joint Peninsula Shield Forces reaffirmed the critical importance of ongoing GCC military cooperation efforts.
