Saudi Arabia Auction Showcases Mongolian Falcons

Saudi Arabia recently hosted an exciting auction of Mongolian falcons at the International Saudi Falcons and Hunting Exhibition. As a result, falcon enthusiasts from across the region gathered to participate in the event. Moreover, the auction highlighted the growing popularity of Mongolian falcons among collectors and professional falconers.

Firstly, the exhibition featured two impressive falcons sold for a total of SR778,000. Specifically, a juvenile hur farkh began bidding at SR70,000 and was sold for SR128,000. Meanwhile, a mature hur qarnas started at SR100,000 and ultimately reached SR650,000. Consequently, this bird became the most expensive Mongolian falcon ever sold at the event.

Furthermore, for the first time in its history, the exhibition dedicated a special zone exclusively to Mongolian falcons. This zone allowed visitors to explore the species’ unique qualities, including their large size, long wingspan, and exceptional endurance. In addition, these falcons’ resilience to harsh conditions provides them with a clear advantage in training and hunting.

Similarly, their color variations—from white to dark brown—make them visually striking. Therefore, both amateurs and professionals find Mongolian falcons highly appealing. Visitors also had the opportunity to learn about proper care, handling, and training techniques, enhancing their understanding of this prized species.

In addition, the auction emphasized the cultural significance of Mongolian falcons in Saudi Arabia. By showcasing these birds, organizers reinforced the Kingdom’s long-standing falconry traditions while promoting international connections. Likewise, the event encouraged skill development, trade, and responsible ownership.

Moreover, the auction created valuable networking opportunities for breeders, falconers, and enthusiasts. As a result, participants shared knowledge, exchanged best practices, and explored future collaborations. Experts also explained that Mongolian falcons combine beauty, strength, and intelligence, making them highly sought-after across the region.

Finally, Saudi Arabia’s exhibition included live demonstrations and educational activities. Visitors observed expert falconers in action and gained insight into hunting techniques, training, and care. Consequently, the event strengthened both the cultural and practical significance of falconry in the Kingdom.

Overall, the success of this year’s auction confirms the rising popularity of Mongolian falcons. Therefore, organizers plan to expand future events with more birds, international participants, and educational programs, ensuring that Saudi Arabia continues to celebrate its rich falconry heritage.
