Doha, Qatar – The Qatari Cabinet, led by Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani, acknowledged the Shura Council’s approval of a draft law aimed at regulating health research. The proposed legislation seeks to enhance healthcare and medical treatment. It ensures ethical and safe research practices while safeguarding participants’ well-being.

Additionally, the Cabinet approved amendments to key government resolutions. This includes changes to Resolution No. 29 of 2020 regarding the formation of the National Anti-Terrorism Committee. Furthermore, it includes Resolution No. 10 of 2007 related to the National Civil Aviation Security Committee.

The session also saw the approval of a basic contribution agreement between the Qatar Fund for Development (QFFD) and the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA). This agreement supports the United Nations Central Emergency Response Fund (CERF) for 2025/2026.

A series of bilateral agreements were also approved, including:

  • mutual visa waiver agreement for holders of ordinary passports between Qatar and Rwanda.
  • An MoU on tourism and business events cooperation between Qatar and Jordan.
  • An executive program (2025-2029) under an environmental cooperation MoU between Qatar and Oman.

The Cabinet also reviewed findings from a study on domestic worker recruitment offices and took appropriate action.

Additionally, three reports were examined:

  1. The semi-annual report on non-Qatari property ownership and usufruct regulations (March-September 2024).
  2. Qatar’s participation in the 40th session of the Council of Arab Justice Ministers, led by the Minister of Justice.
  3. Qatar’s involvement in major WHO meetings, including the 77th World Health Assembly and the 155th WHO Executive Board session, led by the Minister of Public Health.

The Cabinet concluded by making necessary decisions on these matters.
