Delay in Ghubra Bridge Expansion Addressed by Muscat Municipality

Muscat Municipality has clarified the reason behind the delay in the expansion of the al Ghubra Bridge. The project, which is a key part of Muscat’s ongoing infrastructure development, has been temporarily halted, causing public concern. In response, the municipality has assured the public that the work will resume soon after addressing the challenges.

The al Ghubra Bridge expansion is crucial to improving traffic flow and accessibility around the Oman Avenues Mall area. It is part of Muscat’s efforts to upgrade infrastructure to support the growing demands of the city. However, complications related to the surrounding infrastructure, including nearby utilities, have led to the suspension of construction activities.

Officials from Muscat Municipality explained that the delay is linked to the need for careful planning and coordination with other services to prevent any disruption. They emphasized that these steps are necessary to ensure the safety of both workers and the public during the project. Some elements of the work also require expertise and equipment that is being sourced from outside the country, adding to the project’s timeline.

Despite the temporary halt, Muscat Municipality reassured residents that they are actively collaborating with the developer to resolve the issues. They also confirmed that the project would proceed once the necessary adjustments have been made. The municipality is committed to keeping the public informed on any new developments.

The delay in Ghubra Bridge expansion will not only impact the project timeline but also affect the local community. However, the municipality’s efforts to manage the situation effectively highlight their commitment to completing the bridge expansion as soon as possible.
