UAE Unveils 50:50 Vision to Drive Women’s Advancement for the Next 50 Years

The UAE launched the 50:50 Vision for women’s advancement to shape the next 50 years of empowerment. Leaders announced the strategy on Emirati Women’s Day 2025, which also marks the 50th anniversary of the General Women’s Union (GWU).

The initiative honors five decades of progress achieved by Emirati women. Leaders praised the pivotal role women continue to play in building communities, strengthening national identity, and driving economic growth. Officials stressed that UAE 50:50 Vision for women’s advancement represents a renewed commitment to equality and opportunity.

The new framework is built on three strategic pillars: family and national identity, governance and policies, and global partnerships. Together, these pillars aim to reinforce women’s participation across all sectors while ensuring a sustainable and inclusive future. The strategy also aligns with the UAE Centennial 2071 and extends toward 2075, creating a long-term roadmap for progress.

Government leaders emphasized that the achievements of Emirati women remain closely tied to the nation’s success. They highlighted how women have contributed significantly to education, innovation, and leadership across industries. This historic vision recognizes them as key partners in shaping the UAE’s future.

Furthermore, the plan aims to elevate Emirati women as global role models. By fostering leadership opportunities, the vision seeks to inspire women worldwide while positioning the UAE as a pioneer in gender equality. It also focuses on strengthening policies that enhance work-life balance and support family cohesion.

The anniversary celebration of the GWU highlighted the organization’s enduring role in empowering women. Established 50 years ago, the Union has championed policies that continue to drive national development. Today, its mission gains new momentum under this vision, which reflects the country’s determination to lead globally on women’s rights.

Additionally, the UAE 50:50 Vision for women’s advancement highlights global partnerships as essential to progress. By exchanging knowledge and building international cooperation, the UAE seeks to enhance innovation and create wider opportunities for women in every field.

With this new strategy, the UAE celebrates the past while setting a bold direction for the future. The vision ensures that women remain at the heart of national progress for decades to come.
