Journalists’ Association Highlights Freedom and Democracy in Bahrain

The Journalists’ Association in Bahrain reflects freedom and democracy in practice. Isa Al-Hammadi, Advisor for Media Affairs at the Crown Prince’s Court, emphasized its important role in advancing values in the National Charter and the Constitution.

Al-Hammadi explained that freedom and democracy guide Bahrain’s daily life. He said the Journalists’ Association belongs to a larger network of non-governmental organizations. These organizations include parents’ councils, student councils, municipal councils, and the House of Representatives. Sports federations and clubs also show similar democratic practices.

He also noted that competition exists among press and media outlets. However, the association remains the unifying platform for all journalists. It serves as the main body representing the profession and safeguarding collective interests. This role allows journalists to share experiences and face challenges together.

Al-Hammadi also stressed that the association supports its members through regular programs and activities. These initiatives help strengthen professional skills and uphold ethical standards. He added that the association represents Bahraini journalists abroad, giving them a voice on international platforms.

He explained that such international engagement enhances Bahrain’s global presence. It allows Bahraini journalists to exchange ideas, broaden perspectives, and adopt innovative approaches. This global cooperation also introduces fresh practices that benefit the local media community.

He also pointed out that the association organizes workshops and training sessions throughout the year. These events provide practical learning opportunities, improve reporting skills, and help young journalists adapt to industry demands. Such programs ensure continuous growth in Bahrain’s journalistic standards.

Al-Hammadi wished the association success in its future initiatives. He encouraged members to serve the profession with dedication and commitment. He affirmed that freedom and democracy grow stronger when institutions like the association remain active and responsive to society’s needs.

Overall, the Journalists’ Association continues to provide a home for Bahrain’s media community. It empowers journalists, enhances cooperation, and promotes professional growth. Through these combined efforts, the association stands as a cornerstone of democratic practice and a symbol of Bahrain’s evolving press sector.
