Over 800 Omani Professionals Employed in Water Projects Across the Sultanate

The Omani professionals in water projects initiative has taken a major step forward. Nama Water Services announced over 800 new jobs in project-related roles. These positions are within supporting companies, including consultants and contractors working on strategic projects across several governorates of Oman.

The announcement came during a media briefing at the Main Water Monitoring and Control Center in the Wilayat of Bawshar. Moreover, this move supports the company’s commitment to increasing national workforce participation in critical infrastructure projects. It also advances Omanization in technical and administrative sectors. Opportunities include health and safety, project management, surveying, and multiple engineering disciplines.

These jobs are linked to strategic projects worth more than RO 1 billion. The projects involve constructing and expanding water transmission and distribution networks across the Sultanate.

Qais Saud Al Zakwani, CEO of Nama Water Services, said the new positions reflect a strategy to strengthen national human capital. Furthermore, he urged supporting companies to hire based on current project needs in the water and sanitation sector. He stressed that employing over 800 Omani professionals marks an important step in creating opportunities for young talent. These roles will allow them to gain hands-on field experience and contribute directly to national infrastructure.

Eng. Abdullah Salim Al Rasbi, CEO of Development Projects at Nama Water Services, added that the jobs will integrate skilled Omani professionals into active projects. Additionally, he explained that national talents add value by meeting immediate demands and learning advanced skills from experienced teams. This transfer of knowledge ensures continued growth and sustainability in the sector.

The roles span both technical and administrative areas. They include project management, engineering, health and safety, quantity surveying, consultancy, human resources, public relations, and logistics. The hiring plan blends fresh graduates with experienced professionals, promoting knowledge sharing between generations.

These positions connect to strategic developments such as expanding water transmission lines, building new water and sewage networks, and installing smart monitoring systems. As a result, sector efficiency, service quality, and long-term sustainability will improve.

The Omani professionals in water projects initiative reflects a clear national vision for economic development and infrastructure growth. By engaging a skilled local workforce, Oman strengthens its water sector while empowering its people.
