Qatar Issues Weather Warning for Thundery Rain, Strong Winds, and High Seas

The Qatari Department of Meteorology has issued a weather alert for Wednesday. They are warning of expected thundery rain, strong winds, and high sea conditions.

According to the daily weather report, inshore areas will experience hazy conditions in the morning. This will be followed by moderate temperatures and partly cloudy to cloudy skies. There is a likelihood of scattered rain in some areas.

Offshore, the weather will be partly to fully cloudy, with chances of scattered rain, which may become thundery at times. The department has cautioned that thundery rain will be accompanied by strong winds and turbulent sea conditions.

Wind speeds inshore are expected to be northeasterly to southeasterly at 5 to 15 knots. Gusts could reach up to 21 knots during thundery conditions. Offshore, wind speeds will range from 5 to 15 knots, with gusts of up to 25 knots during storms.

The sea state will vary, with inshore waves ranging between 1 to 3 feet. These could rise to 5 feet during thundery conditions. Offshore, wave heights will range between 2 to 4 feet, increasing to 8 feet in areas affected by thunderstorms.

Visibility inshore is expected to be between 4 to 9 kilometers. Meanwhile, offshore visibility will range from 5 to 9 kilometers.

Residents and mariners are advised to exercise caution. Stay updated with official weather reports to ensure safety during these weather fluctuations.
