Southern Governorate Enhances Public Safety Through Ongoing Security Coordination

Security coordination in Southern Governorate continues to play a vital role in protecting residents and enhancing public safety. The eighth Security Committee meeting of 2025 reflected this ongoing priority.

The Governor of the Southern Governorate chaired the session with the attendance of senior officials and officers from the Ministry of Interior. The meeting opened with a strong emphasis on collaboration between the Governorate and all security departments. This teamwork ensures a consistent and proactive response to local security needs.

During the session, participants reviewed directives previously issued by the Minister of Interior. These directives aim to maintain a stable and secure environment in the Governorate. In response, committee members praised the achievements of the General Directorate of Traffic and other departments. Their work has directly contributed to maintaining safety in public spaces.

Officials also highlighted the strong community partnership that supports security coordination in the region. They agreed that this partnership helps reinforce trust between residents and law enforcement agencies.

In a key update, the Labour Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA) shared the results of recent inspection campaigns. However, these focused on identifying and addressing irregular labor practices in Riffa. Over 7,000 inspection visits were conducted across 149 campaigns. The committee acknowledged the LMRA’s active role in supporting public safety efforts.

Additionally, the meeting discussed awareness programs held during the summer. These events targeted youth centers and aimed to boost community engagement. Moreover, organizers taught participants how to contribute positively to society and encouraged a sense of responsibility.

The Governorate also plans to continue these programs. The goal is to develop stronger links between young citizens and public institutions. Attendees expressed confidence that this strategy will strengthen long-term security coordination.

At the close of the meeting, officials commended the leadership’s role in driving these efforts forward. They emphasized the importance of sustained dialogue and practical steps to improve outcomes.

Overall, security coordination in Southern Governorate remains a core strategy. It supports not only enforcement but also prevention, education, and cooperation with residents.
