ISO 26000 Qatar is at the center of a national effort to improve business responsibility and sustainability. To support this, the Qatar Chamber and the Regional Network for Consultancy held a training forum in Doha that focused on aligning institutions with the ISO 26000 Social Responsibility Standard.
To begin with, the forum attracted participants from both public and private institutions. They came to learn how to improve their practices. More importantly, they aimed to align their operations with the global ISO 26000 Social Responsibility Standard.
Dr. Ali Abdullah Al-Ibrahim, Vice President of the Regional Network for Social Responsibility, delivered the opening keynote. He explained how global standards promote transparency and accountability. Furthermore, he stressed the urgent need for institutions to adopt sustainable practices, not just for image, but for long-term growth.
Afterwards, Fatima Issa Al-Kuwari, who leads Training and Development at Qatar Chamber, addressed the gathering. She highlighted that the Chamber’s mission includes empowering institutions through education, guidance, and resource-sharing. As a result, more businesses now recognize the benefits of social responsibility.
In addition, the forum presented four essential themes. First, participants received an introduction to the ISO 26000 Social Responsibility Standard. Second, experts explained how organizations can adjust their internal policies to follow the standard. Third, the training detailed how these changes support institutional performance. Finally, the sessions described the path to official certification.
Throughout the forum, attendees exchanged insights, case studies, and practical examples. Consequently, they left with real strategies, not just theory. Moreover, several participants committed to launching internal audits and policy reviews.
Equally important, the forum emphasized that this standard boosts more than reputation. It strengthens stakeholder trust, improves internal decision-making, and ensures resilience. As such, aligning with the ISO 26000 framework is now seen as a vital step for modern institutions.
Additionally, Al-Kuwari announced that Qatar Chamber plans more programs like this in the future. She urged all sectors to participate in training and adopt practices that lead to a more sustainable society.
In conclusion, this initiative marks a major step in Qatar’s national journey toward responsible business leadership. The forum proved that social responsibility is not only necessary, but also achievable when the right tools are shared and applied.
