Developing human resources took center stage on Sunday as the 11th Annual Human Development Conference began in Salalah. To begin with, organizers are hosting the two-day event at the Sultan Qaboos Youth Complex for Culture and Entertainment.
Organized by Alassayel Company for Conferences and Training Services, the conference brings together national and international experts. In addition, the organizers are holding it in cooperation with the Ministry of Labour, Dhofar Governor’s Office, and the Dhofar branch of the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
This year’s theme is developing human resources through training. Specifically, the focus is on innovation and the practical use of artificial intelligence. Overall, the agenda supports Oman Vision 2040 by strengthening professional skills and future readiness.
The opening ceremony was led by HH Sayyid Marwan bin Turki Al Said, Governor of Dhofar. Furthermore, several senior officials, training specialists, and professionals attended the launch. Their participation reflected the importance of national collaboration in workforce development.

Sessions explore how AI tools can improve work environments and increase learning outcomes. Moreover, many speakers emphasized the need for ongoing skill development. Consequently, training programs must evolve with changing technologies and international standards.
Participants are discussing ways to integrate AI into local training initiatives. At the same time, organizers hope to introduce new models for career development and organizational growth. Given this, with global trends moving fast, Oman aims to prepare its workforce early.
Developing human resources is seen as a pillar of national economic progress. As a result, experts shared that investment in people drives productivity, innovation, and competitiveness. In the same vein, sessions also highlighted how digital transformation is reshaping job markets.
The conference encourages dialogue between sectors. Additionally, it promotes knowledge sharing among companies, government bodies, and educators. Presenters argue that workforce development must be strategic, continuous, and data-driven.
As the conference continues into Monday, discussions will offer further insight into building sustainable training ecosystems. Looking ahead, organizers expect the final sessions to propose long-term action plans.
By developing human resources through AI and training, Oman is shaping a smarter, more capable labor force. Ultimately, this effort ensures citizens can meet the demands of a rapidly evolving world.
