School Scouting Programs Strengthen Qatar’s Educational and Defense Cooperation

The Ministry of Education and Higher Education in Qatar recently held a key coordination meeting with the Ministry of Defense. They gathered to strengthen school scouting programs and support national values among young students.

During the meeting, Maha Zaid Al-Qaqqaa Al-Ruwaili, Assistant Undersecretary for Educational Affairs, led the discussions. Brigadier General Talib Anter Al-Marri and Captain Salem Mohammed Muhmeid represented the Ministry of Defense. They were joined by Jassim Al-Hardan, Commissioner General of the Qatar Scouts and Guides Association, and senior officials from the Educational Affairs Sector.

Both ministries agreed to involve selected Qatari Armed Forces personnel as co-leaders in school scouting programs. This initiative will focus on preparatory and secondary boys’ schools, emphasizing discipline, loyalty, and responsibility. Moreover, it will promote active citizenship and foster strong leadership skills among students.

Furthermore, the two ministries discussed the strategic plan for launching the program’s pilot phase. They approved a general cooperation framework, ensuring clear guidelines for future implementation. Officials also outlined specific job descriptions, clarifying roles and responsibilities for participating personnel.

Additionally, the ministries emphasized the importance of continuous evaluation. They committed to monitoring and improving the school scouting programs to guarantee long-term success. This strategy ensures that students receive consistent guidance and support throughout their involvement.

Through these efforts, the Ministry of Education and Higher Education demonstrates its dedication to promoting national identity. The partnership also showcases the Ministry of Defense’s commitment to community involvement beyond its traditional roles.

The meeting underscored Qatar’s focus on enhancing educational environments by merging civic values with practical skills. Officials expressed optimism about expanding the program after a successful pilot phase. By involving military personnel, the school scouting programs will create new learning opportunities and inspire a spirit of teamwork.

Looking forward, the ministries plan to introduce similar initiatives in additional schools. They aim to include more diverse activities, further strengthening students’ character and national pride.
