Museum of Islamic Art, Dreama Orphan Care Center Celebrate Islamic Heritage and Creativity

Doha, Qatar – The Museum of Islamic Art (MIA), in collaboration with Dreama Orphan Care Center, successfully concluded a special event titled “Ceramics and Heritage: From the Aesthetics of Islamic Art to Contemporary Creativity.” Held on February 6, 2025, the initiative provided children from Dreama with a unique opportunity. They explored Islamic art and culture through hands-on creative activities.

Designed to foster artistic awareness among young participants. The event also served as a meaningful prelude to the holy month of Ramadan.

A Platform for Artistic Expression

Participants engaged in porcelain painting, where they applied traditional Islamic motifs to ceramic and porcelain pieces. This enhanced their artistic skills. The event also featured an interactive treasure hunt within the museum galleries. This encouraged children to explore Islamic art collections in an engaging and educational manner.

MIA Director Shaika Nasser Al Nassr expressed pride in the collaboration, stating:

“We’re honored to have joined hands with Dreama Orphan Care Center to offer the young generation a unique opportunity to develop their artistic skills while learning about our shared Islamic heritage. By engaging children in hands-on educational sessions, we hope to inspire curiosity and a deeper connection to our rich cultural history.”

Meanwhile, Sheikha Najla bint Ahmed Al Thani, Executive Director of Dreama Orphan Care Center, emphasized the significance of the initiative in nurturing creativity:

“This event reaffirms the strong partnership between Dreama and MIA in developing the skills and talents of our children. We extend our gratitude to MIA for their support and to artist Maria Al-Badr for guiding the children in creating traditional Islamic patterns and motifs.”

Recognizing Creativity and Talent

The event concluded with a certificate and awards ceremony, recognizing the children’s efforts and artistic achievements. The collaboration between MIA and Dreama Orphan Care Center continues to highlight the importance of innovative educational initiatives. These initiatives bridge heritage and contemporary creativity, ensuring that future generations remain connected to Islamic art and culture.
