Labour Medical Awareness Programme Supports 340 Workers With Free Healthcare and Cultural Education in Qatar

Worker health support remains a priority in Qatar, as shown by a recent programme that helped 340 workers. In a strong joint effort, the Sheikh Abdulla bin Zaid Al Mahmoud Islamic Cultural Centre and the Primary Health Care Corporation worked together to deliver essential healthcare and cultural outreach.

The programme was held at the Labour City Branch and served workers from Qatari Diar and Qatar Construct Company. Participants came from many different nationalities, reflecting Qatar’s diverse workforce.

The worker health support programme featured on-site medical check-ups, free medication distribution, and engaging health education sessions. Participants also enjoyed an introduction to Islamic and Qatari culture, where they could ask questions and learn more about life in Qatar.

Through this effort, organisers aimed to meet both healthcare and cultural needs. By delivering these services directly at work sites, the programme reduced barriers to access and ensured that workers received help in a convenient and comfortable setting.

Moreover, this worker health support initiative highlights Qatar’s dedication to improving worker well-being and community health. The Center works closely with national institutions like the Primary Health Care Corporation, which provides doctors, nurses, and medical supplies. Many of these healthcare professionals participate voluntarily, guided by humanitarian values and a shared mission to support underserved groups.

The programme also helped raise awareness about healthy lifestyles and preventive care. Workers gained valuable knowledge about nutrition, disease prevention, and personal hygiene. By empowering them with information, the programme fosters a more proactive approach to health.

Looking forward, organisers plan to expand the worker health support programme to reach even more workers in various sectors. They aim to strengthen community connections, improve health outcomes, and create a safer, more supportive work environment.

Ultimately, this initiative shows that worker health support is more than just medical care. It represents a commitment to human dignity, cultural understanding, and a healthier society. By investing in worker well-being, Qatar continues to build a strong foundation for its future development and social cohesion.
