Kuwait’s WCO Audit Committee Membership Renewed Until 2026

Kuwait WCO Audit Committee membership was officially extended for another year during the recent WCO Council meetings in Brussels. The renewal confirms Kuwait’s growing leadership in customs modernization, transparency, and international cooperation.

From June 26 to 28, Kuwait participated in the 145th and 146th World Customs Organization Council meetings. The General Administration of Customs represented Kuwait during the sessions. Delegates discussed customs reform, artificial intelligence in customs, and global trade challenges.

Kuwait WCO Audit Committee membership reflects the country’s progress in digital transformation. Kuwait has enhanced customs clearance by connecting electronically with various government entities. These improvements help speed up procedures and reduce administrative delays for businesses and individuals.

The customs authority also launched integrated digital services to improve public access and efficiency. Services like online travel agency registration and electronic authorization are now fully digital. These tools have made customs operations more streamlined and responsive.

In addition to discussing technology, the WCO Council tackled pressing global issues. Delegates exchanged views on transfer pricing impacts, financial system reforms, and international smuggling prevention. These exchanges promote knowledge sharing and collaboration between customs authorities worldwide.

Fatima Al-Qallaf, who led Kuwait’s delegation, emphasized the importance of Kuwait’s continued global role. She highlighted that the renewed membership shows international recognition of Kuwait’s commitment to customs governance and innovation. She also noted that Kuwait remains dedicated to advancing its role in international trade facilitation.

Kuwait WCO Audit Committee membership gives the country a strategic platform to influence global customs policies and decision-making processes. With this renewed position, Kuwait can actively participate in shaping future customs frameworks that support international trade, enhance transparency, and boost operational efficiency across borders.

Ultimately, this renewed term underlines Kuwait’s trusted status in the world customs community. It shows the country’s ongoing drive for modernization, digital excellence, and cross-border trade leadership.
