Kuwait Sports Day Set for February 22 with Exciting Events for All Ages

The Public Authority for Sports has announced that Kuwait Sports Day will take place on February 22, offering a jam-packed schedule of diverse sporting activities for people of all ages and backgrounds. The Higher Organizing Committee, led by the Minister of Information, Culture, and Minister of State for Youth Affairs, Abdulrahman Al-Mutairi, discussed the details during a recent meeting, confirming several exciting events.

One of the standout activities is a major marathon that will take place on the iconic Jaber Bridge, with a high level of participation expected. This event is poised to attract both amateur and professional runners, celebrating the spirit of sportsmanship and community involvement.

In addition to the marathon, the day will feature the opening ceremony of the Gulf Football Legends Championship, which will bring together eight top football teams from across the region. The championship will celebrate the legends of Gulf football while also fostering unity among Gulf countries. Another key event is the youth football league, designed to support and promote youth sports, providing a platform for the next generation of football talent.

Various activities will also be organized by the Kuwait Olympic Committee at several locations throughout the country, ensuring that there are opportunities for everyone to engage in physical activity.

During the meeting, the organizing committee also finalized the plan for the Jaber Bridge marathon, ensuring that the event will be executed smoothly and to a high standard. Registration for the marathon will open on Wednesday via the “Hayakom” platform.

As for the Gulf Football Legends Championship, the Kuwaiti Football Association outlined the tournament details, which will run from February 20 to 24. The event will feature a star-studded lineup of former Gulf football greats, reflecting the strong sense of unity within the region.

The Public Authority for Sports is fully committed to providing the necessary facilities and support to ensure the success of these events. This year’s Kuwait Sports Day aims to raise awareness of the importance of physical activity and sports in fostering a healthy, active lifestyle for people across Kuwait.
