The 11th edition of the Doha Islamic Finance Conference opened under the theme “Integration of Blockchain and AI: The Future of Islamic Finance,”. It brought together key officials, scholars, and experts in finance and technology.
The event was attended by HE Minister of Commerce and Industry Sheikh Faisal bin Thani bin Faisal Al-Thani and HE Minister of Endowments and Islamic Affairs Ghanem bin Shaheen bin Ghanem Al Ghanem.
Speaking at the opening, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs, Sheikh Dr Khalid bin Mohammed bin Ghanem Al Thani, emphasized the profound impact artificial intelligence is having across multiple sectors. These include healthcare, law, education, and economics. He noted that AI’s growing influence is reshaping intellectual, professional, and financial domains. This change is necessitating a new approach to work and ethical governance.
The conference will address key issues such as establishing standards for AI quality control and correcting potential errors. It will also define responsibilities related to emerging technologies. The event serves as a platform for discussing how Islamic finance can adapt to and benefit from AI and blockchain integration in a rapidly evolving digital landscape.
