Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani stated on Tuesday that efforts are ongoing with the United States. They are working to achieve a ceasefire in Gaza.
In an interview with Al Jazeera, during his meeting with US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, the Prime Minister noted that recent actions by Israel indicate a lack of interest. They do not seem to be reaching an agreement.
He also mentioned that he held frank and open discussions with the US Secretary of State regarding Syria. He emphasized the importance of lifting sanctions to enable the Syrian government to function.
He said, “We are also working with the United States and our brothers in the region to reach a solution. They want to lift sanctions on Syria and facilitate business until it emerges from this difficult phase.”
On the topic of Iran, the Prime Minister confirmed alignment with the United States’ vision. They seek to secure an agreement on the Iranian nuclear programme as soon as possible.
