Virtual Family Latifa has officially been introduced as part of Digital Dubai’s innovative community campaign. Moreover, this project marks the UAE’s first AI-generated Emirati virtual family.
Nearly 14,000 people joined the recent poll to name the character. Consequently, Latifa won with 43 percent of votes, while Mira and Dubai followed closely. Furthermore, this strong engagement encouraged Digital Dubai to move forward with unveiling the entire family.
In a short video, Latifa appeared alongside her father Mohammed, her mother Salama, and her brother Rashid. Together, they represent the first Emirati digital model inspired by local values. In addition, they were designed to connect with society and communicate in multiple languages. Therefore, the family bridges culture and technology in a relatable way.
Meanwhile, Digital Dubai emphasized that this initiative reflects its mission to create engaging media tools. Through storytelling, the virtual family aims to highlight government digital services in simple and appealing formats. It also promotes a culture of digital transformation that feels natural to daily life.
Importantly, this project forms part of the “Year of the Community,” announced by His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. As a result, the initiative encourages greater public participation, engagement, and collaboration. Consequently, the virtual family also serves as a symbol of community-driven innovation.
Additionally, Digital Dubai confirmed that the next stage will involve developing detailed communication identities for each family member. They will then appear in diverse content tailored to various age groups and community audiences. As a result, Latifa and her family will play an active role in campaigns across social media platforms.
The virtual family also aims to act as digital ambassadors. They will share stories about digital life in Dubai, encourage safe online behavior, and strengthen awareness about responsible technology use. Thus, this approach ensures that innovation remains closely tied to social values and cultural identity.
In conclusion, Virtual Family Latifa introduces a pioneering step in combining technology with community connection. Ultimately, it reflects Dubai’s vision of a digitally advanced society rooted in inclusivity and local values. With Latifa and her family soon engaging online, residents can therefore expect creative and interactive content ahead.
