UAE President Welcomes Pakistani Prime Minister for Talks on Bilateral Cooperation

Abu Dhabi: President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan received Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, Prime Minister of Pakistan. He is on a working visit to the UAE to participate in the World Governments Summit 2025.

The summit, held in Dubai from February 11 to 13 under the theme “Shaping Future Governments”, serves as a platform for global discussions on governance and development.

During their meeting at Qasr Al Shati in Abu Dhabi, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed and the Pakistani Prime Minister explored ways to strengthen UAE-Pakistan ties. They focused particularly on economic, trade, and development sectors. Both leaders emphasized the importance of fostering sustainable growth and prosperity through enhanced cooperation.

Their discussions also highlighted the role of the World Governments Summit in identifying global governance trends. They aimed to implement strategies to navigate emerging challenges. Additionally, they exchanged views on regional and international developments, focusing on the Middle East. Both sides reaffirmed the need for intensified diplomatic efforts to promote peace, security, and stability, particularly through a two-state solution.

The Pakistani Prime Minister reiterated his country’s commitment to deepening its longstanding relationship with the UAE. They plan to focus on economic, trade, and investment collaboration aligned with both nations’ development goals.

The meeting was attended by senior UAE officials, including Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi. Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler’s Representative in Al Dhafra Region, was also present. Lt. General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior, also attended. Other attendees included Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence, and Ali bin Hammad Al Shamsi, Secretary-General of the Supreme Council for National Security. Dr. Anwar Gargash, Diplomatic Adviser to the UAE President, along with other dignitaries, were also present.
