UAE Prepares for Heavy Rain and Strong Winds Across Northern Emirates

The UAE is preparing for heavy rain and strong winds over the coming days. Authorities have urged residents to stay alert. Weather warnings in the UAE stress the risks for commuters and residents.

The National Centre of Meteorology predicts heavy rainfall in Abu Dhabi, Dubai, and the Northern Emirates on Sunday. Winds may reach up to 55 kph, creating dust and lowering visibility. The NCM issued a yellow alert for Dubai, Ras Al Khaimah, and Sharjah, asking people to remain cautious outdoors.

Fujairah faces a more severe orange alert due to hazardous weather. Storm Centre, a social media account tracking weather, shared videos of rain in Mohamed bin Zayed City on Sunday morning. On Saturday, the account posted clips of drivers navigating wet roads and locals enjoying streams of rainwater in eastern regions.

The National Emergency, Crisis and Disaster Management Authority (Ncema) is closely monitoring the weather. Officials warned northern, eastern, as well as western regions about strong winds and wet conditions, which could cause flying debris and low visibility. They also forecast rough seas in the Arabian Gulf and the Sea of Oman.

Ncema advised residents to follow official updates from the NCM. People should avoid waterlogged areas and take precautions to stay safe.

The NCM’s five-day forecast shows light rainfall on Saturday in Al Ain, Ras Al Khaimah, and Fujairah, followed by heavier downpours on Sunday. Conditions are expected to remain dry in Abu Dhabi and Dubai on Monday and Tuesday, though clouds may appear on Wednesday. The Northern Emirates may see more rain on Monday and Tuesday.

Fog is expected to reduce visibility on Tuesday and Wednesday. Early morning commuters should be especially cautious on the roads.

Overall, weather warnings in the UAE aim to protect residents and commuters. Following official updates, avoiding risky areas, and staying cautious will help people navigate the storms safely. Weather warnings in the UAE remain crucial as rain, wind, and fog affect multiple Emirates over the next few days.
