UAE-Pakistan Trade to Benefit from Faster Customs Processing Under New Digital Agreement

Dubai: Customs processing for shipments between the UAE and Pakistan is set to accelerate following a new agreement between AD Ports Group and the Pakistan Single Window platform. The collaboration will enable shippers to submit all import, export, and transit-related data through a unified digital portal, streamlining trade procedures.

This initiative follows a partnership between Maqta Technologies Group, the digital arm of AD Ports Group, and Pakistan Single Window, a government-owned digital trade facilitation platform. The collaboration aims to enhance trade efficiency through value-added services, including digital customs clearance, smart warehousing, risk management systems, e-commerce solutions, cargo and port community systems, trade finance, and predictive analytics for trade optimization.

Dr. Noura Al Dhaheri, CEO of Digital Cluster and Maqta Technologies Group at AD Ports Group, stated: “We will leverage our combined capabilities to unlock new commercial opportunities and maximize trade facilitation in Pakistan and global markets.”

Expanding AD Ports Group’s Presence in Pakistan

AD Ports Group has been actively expanding its operations in Pakistan since 2023. The ADX-listed company secured a 50-year concession with Kaheel Terminals to operate five container terminal berths at Karachi’s East Wharf. Additionally, it signed a 25-year concession to manage seven general and bulk cargo berths at the same location.

Recognizing Pakistan’s strategic role in Central Asian trade, AD Ports Group views the country as a vital maritime gateway within the ‘Middle Corridor’ connecting Asia and Europe. The redevelopment of Karachi Port, Pakistan’s primary port with overland links to Central Asia, aims to modernize and enhance the efficiency of this key trade route.
