The UAE’s Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology has launched a nationwide campaign to promote UAE-made products in shops and online. This initiative is part of a strategic partnership with nine major retailers and e-commerce platforms. It aims to boost the visibility and sales of locally manufactured products. Furthermore, the campaign supports the country’s broader industrial growth plans.
The participating retailers include Adnoc Distribution, Noon, Tradeling, Grandiose, Talabat, Carrefour, Lulu, Union Coop, and Spinneys. These platforms will offer incentives such as prominent shelf space, digital shopfronts, and enhanced visibility for UAE-made products. The Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology announced the partnership in a statement on Sunday.
In addition to better shelf space, the campaign will provide local manufacturers with various benefits. These include registration fee exemptions and free digital advertising. Manufacturers also receive logistics and storage support for up to three months, as well as assistance with product registration. The ministry plans to produce promotional videos for social media. This will further elevate brand awareness.
The campaign coincides with the fourth Make it in the Emirates event, which will take place in Abu Dhabi from May 19 to May 22. “This campaign aligns with the ministry’s efforts to enhance collaboration with manufacturers and suppliers across the UAE,” said Omar Al Suwaidi, the ministry’s undersecretary. He highlighted that this public-private collaboration strengthens the UAE’s business environment. It also boosts the competitiveness of local companies.
The initiative is also part of a broader strategy to raise consumer awareness about the quality of UAE-made products. Official data revealed that the value of UAE industrial exports reached Dh197 billion ($53.6 billion) last year. This marks a 5% annual increase and a remarkable 68% rise since 2020. The growth underscores the effectiveness of the UAE’s industrial strategy.
The UAE continues to prioritize industrial growth as it diversifies its economy away from oil dependency. The country launched its Operation 300bn strategy. This aims to boost the industrial sector’s contribution to the gross domestic product (GDP) to Dh300 billion by 2031. This is up from Dh133 billion in 2021.
More than 700 exhibitors will participate, showcasing advancements under the theme “Advanced Industries.” This reflects the UAE’s commitment to cutting-edge industrial innovation.
The nationwide campaign marks another step in the UAE’s ambitious plan to strengthen its industrial base. It also aims to increase the global reach of its products.
