UAE Introduces AI Tool For Prostate Cancer Diagnosis

A healthcare group in the United Arab Emirates has introduced a new artificial intelligence-powered system designed to improve the diagnosis of prostate cancer and support faster clinical decision-making.

The platform, developed by M42’s National Reference Laboratory in partnership with digital pathology company Qritive, aims to assist doctors by analysing medical images and highlighting potential signs of cancer within tissue samples.

Officials said the system is intended to improve the speed and consistency of diagnosis, particularly in complex cases where accurate grading is essential for treatment decisions.

The technology is being integrated into diagnostic workflows at Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi, where pathologists will use the tool to review digital slides and assess tumour patterns more efficiently.

The AI system does not replace medical professionals, but instead provides structured insights to support their evaluations and reduce variation in interpretation.

Medical experts involved in the project said artificial intelligence is becoming increasingly important in pathology, helping clinicians manage rising demand and improve accuracy in cancer detection.

Prostate cancer remains one of the most common cancers among men worldwide, and health officials in the UAE say early and accurate diagnosis is key to improving patient outcomes.

The introduction of the platform forms part of wider efforts to expand digital healthcare services and strengthen the use of advanced technology in the country’s medical sector.
