UAE Announces Ramadan Working Hours for Federal Employees

The Federal Authority for Government Human Resources (FAHR) has announced the official working hours for federal employees during Ramadan 2025. The new schedule applies to ministries and federal authorities across the UAE.

Adjusted Working Hours During Ramadan

FAHR confirmed that from Monday to Thursday, government employees will work from 9 AM to 2:30 PM. On Fridays, working hours will be reduced to 9 AM to 12 noon, allowing employees to balance their professional and personal commitments during the holy month.

The authority also emphasized that ministries and federal entities can introduce flexible schedules or remote work options. These adjustments must align with operational needs while staying within the approved daily working hours.

Promoting Work-Life Balance

The decision to modify working hours reflects the UAE’s commitment to supporting employees during Ramadan. Shorter working hours help create a balance between professional duties and spiritual practices. The UAE government encourages organizations to facilitate smooth transitions while maintaining efficiency.

Employers across federal entities have welcomed the initiative. Many organizations will implement hybrid working models to accommodate employees while ensuring business continuity. This flexibility aligns with the country’s efforts to enhance workplace well-being.

Celebrating the Holy Month

As part of the Ramadan announcement, FAHR extended its congratulations to the UAE’s leadership, citizens, and residents. The authority emphasized the importance of the holy month as a time of reflection, compassion, and togetherness.

Ramadan remains a significant period in the UAE, with workplaces, communities, and businesses adapting their schedules to honor its traditions. By promoting a supportive work environment, the UAE continues to strengthen its values of inclusivity and well-being.

With these official working hours in place, federal employees can look forward to a productive yet balanced Ramadan experience in 2025.
