UAE and Qatar Discuss Regional Security and Escalating Tensions in Abu Dhabi Talks

Senior officials from the United Arab Emirates and Qatar have held talks in Abu Dhabi focusing on regional developments, rising tensions, and their implications for security and stability in the Middle East.

The meeting brought together UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Qatari Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, where both sides reviewed bilateral relations and explored ways to strengthen cooperation across multiple sectors.

According to the Emirates News Agency (WAM), discussions also addressed recent regional escalations and their impact on both regional and international security frameworks.

During the talks, the Qatari foreign minister reiterated Doha’s condemnation of attacks attributed to Iran targeting civilians and civilian infrastructure in the UAE. He also expressed Qatar’s solidarity with Abu Dhabi and support for measures aimed at safeguarding national sovereignty and security.

The UAE leadership has recently reported a series of security incidents, including attacks on energy infrastructure and maritime assets, which have drawn concern across the region and prompted international reactions.

Both sides emphasized the importance of continued coordination and dialogue in addressing regional challenges, with a focus on reducing tensions and maintaining stability.

Officials noted that strengthening diplomatic engagement remains essential to managing escalating developments and ensuring the protection of regional security interests.
