Turkish Ambassador Lauds Qatar Media for Responsible Coverage of Global Issues

HE Dr. Mustafa Goksu, Ambassador of Turkiye to Qatar, has commended Qatari media and international media outlets operating in Qatar. He praised their professional and responsible coverage of global issues. He emphasized that their work exemplifies the noble mission of the media, upholding the highest standards of integrity and transparency.

Ambassador Goksu made these remarks during the annual gala iftar dinner. The event was held in honor of media executives and members in Doha. He described the gathering as a moment of goodwill and brotherhood, reflecting the values of the holy month of Ramadan.

He expressed deep appreciation for the role the media plays in conveying the truth with objectivity. This is particularly important during challenging times for journalism worldwide. “Your presence today is a source of pride for us, recognizing your role in delivering truthful and professional reporting, especially in light of current global challenges,” said Ambassador Goksu.

The ambassador highlighted the significance of Ramadan as a time to strengthen bonds of solidarity and communication. “Through you, the pioneers of journalism, you are the protectors of truth, connecting nations and fostering cultural understanding,” he remarked.

Ambassador Goksu also acknowledged the ongoing challenges faced by the region, particularly the crises in Palestine and Syria. He stressed the importance of holding accountable those who seek to suppress the truth. He also honored the martyrs of the press, especially those in Gaza, for their courage and dedication to their profession.

Despite these challenges, the ambassador spoke of the hope and strength that Ramadan brings. “Ramadan is a beacon that lights our way forward, reinforcing values of brotherhood and justice,” he said. “From this platform, we reaffirm the importance of unity and collective efforts to secure a prosperous future for our peoples.”

The ambassador concluded by expressing his gratitude to the Nebras platform for sponsoring the iftar. He recognized their significant contribution to the event’s success.
