Trump Gulf Visit Marks Return to the Region

US President Donald Trump has launched his first tour of the Gulf since 2017, reinforcing regional diplomatic ties.

The Trump Gulf visit includes official stops in Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and the United Arab Emirates over four days.

He started in Riyadh, moved on to Doha, and is scheduled to arrive in Abu Dhabi on Thursday.

While in the UAE, Trump will stay at The Ritz-Carlton Abu Dhabi, a choice that reflects both comfort and security.

Although Abu Dhabi offers many luxury hotels, The Ritz-Carlton stands out for its privacy and high-level security measures.

It is owned by Maryland-based Marriott International, a brand often preferred by US presidents during international trips.

Initially set to open in 2011, the hotel finally welcomed guests in 2013 due to several planning changes.

Interestingly, it was first planned as a JW Marriott before the developers opted for the Ritz-Carlton branding.

The hotel’s design draws inspiration from Renaissance-era Venice, offering a unique visual and cultural experience.

Ten buildings form a crescent layout, featuring numerous elegant fountains across the 54-acre waterfront property.

Situated along the Grand Canal, the hotel provides tranquil views while maintaining proximity to key landmarks.

Notably, it sits near the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque and lies just minutes from Zayed International Airport.

This central location gives easy access to downtown Abu Dhabi as well as Yas Island’s entertainment venues.

The Trump Gulf visit underscores the strategic importance of the UAE in American foreign policy and business relations.

Moreover, by staying in a US-owned hotel, Trump demonstrates support for American enterprises abroad.

The Trump Gulf visit not only revives high-level diplomacy but also highlights the lasting ties between Washington and Gulf capitals.
