Three Arrested at Muscat Airport After Attempted Escape Following Gold Theft

Muscat Police Command has arrested three individuals of Asian nationality who were trying to flee the country after stealing gold jewellery from a store in the Wilayat of Mutrah.

The suspects, under surveillance by law enforcement, were stopped at Muscat International Airport just before they were about to board a flight. Acting on a tip-off, the police managed to apprehend the individuals and take them into custody. They are now facing serious charges related to the theft.

The theft occurred at a local jewellery store in Mutrah. The store owner quickly reported the incident to the authorities, providing key information that helped the police identify the suspects. Investigators believe that the individuals took a significant amount of gold before fleeing the scene.

Thanks to quick action by the Muscat Police, the suspects were intercepted at the airport, preventing their escape. Authorities are now completing the necessary legal steps to ensure that the law takes its course.

Police are continuing to gather evidence to determine if the suspects are linked to a larger criminal operation. Investigations are ongoing to ensure that they are fully held accountable for their actions.

This incident highlights the commitment of Oman’s law enforcement agencies to safeguarding public safety. By acting swiftly, they not only prevented the suspects’ escape but also ensured that justice will be served for the crime committed.
