Iraq’s Foreign Minister, Fuad Hussein, recently emphasized the importance of boosting economic cooperation between Iraq and Morocco.
In a statement from Iraq’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, it was shared that Fuad Hussein, who also serves as the Deputy Prime Minister and Chairman of the Economic Council, visited the Tanger Med Port in Morocco. This visit was part of efforts to improve the economic relationship between the two nations, particularly in maritime transport and logistics services.
During his visit, the minister was briefed by port officials on how the port operates and manages its advanced infrastructure and technologies. These modern systems help speed up the loading and unloading of goods. The port plays a key role in the Mediterranean region as a logistics hub and has a significant impact on international trade, facilitating the movement of goods between Europe, Africa, and the Arab world.
Minister Hussein emphasized that this visit would help strengthen economic ties between Iraq and Morocco, noting that the success of Tanger Med Port offers valuable lessons for the development of Iraqi ports. He also mentioned that the visit is part of Iraq’s ongoing efforts to expand its economic partnerships and improve its position in global trade.
