The Social Protection Fund (SPF) in Oman has completed the successful distribution of financial assistance to over 53,000 families, providing crucial income support to eligible beneficiaries across the country. As of February, a total of 53,072 cases were approved, with disbursements totaling more than OMR 8 million.
Among these cases, 30,810 were newly approved applicants, while 22,262 were existing beneficiaries continuing to receive their social security pensions. This surge in applications highlights the strong demand for financial assistance, reflecting the economic challenges faced by many Omani families.
The application process for support was launched on October 20, 2024, and since then, 31,375 applications have been received. This significant demand underscores the ongoing need for government support during difficult economic times.
The SPF continues to focus on helping those in need as part of its mission to enhance social welfare in Oman. The financial aid plays an integral role in the country’s broader social security efforts, ensuring families have the resources necessary to maintain their well-being.
In addition to this initiative, His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik allocated a Royal grant exceeding OMR 178 million to support various segments of society. This funding is aimed at improving the social and economic conditions of citizens, further solidifying the country’s commitment to improving livelihoods and ensuring social stability.
The ongoing efforts of the Social Protection Fund, backed by the government’s broader support, are a testament to the nation’s dedication to assisting its citizens in times of need, promoting stability and long-term welfare for all.
