Sheikh Mohammed Highlights the Role of Emirati Children in Shaping the Nation’s Future

Dubai – His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, emphasized the immense potential of Emirati children in driving the UAE’s progress.

On the occasion of Emirati Children’s Day, observed annually on March 15, Sheikh Mohammed shared a message underscoring the importance of nurturing young minds.

“Within every child lies a seed — a seed of dreams, achievements, and boundless potential. This seed can flourish into a lush, fruitful tree that gives generously to society, or it may wither at the very beginning due to neglect and lack of care,” he stated in a post on social media.

Sheikh Mohammed reiterated that children are the future leaders and builders of the nation, stressing the importance of providing them with the right care, education, and opportunities to ensure the UAE’s continued success.

Emirati Children’s Day: A Commitment to Child Welfare

Emirati Children’s Day was launched in 2018 by Her Highness Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, Chairwoman of the General Women’s Union and President of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood (SCMC). It serves as a reminder of the nation’s commitment to child welfare, rights, and development.

The date March 15 was chosen to commemorate the 2016 approval of Federal Law No. 3, widely known as Wadeema’s Law, which ensures the protection and rights of children in the UAE.

Investing in the Future

By prioritizing the well-being and development of future generations, the UAE continues to reinforce its vision of a prosperous and sustainable future, led by empowered and capable youth.
