Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Deputy Prime Minister & Minister of Defence of the UAE, met with key figures from the cricketing world during his recent visit to Mumbai.
As part of his official two-day trip to India, Sheikh Hamdan met Jay Shah, Chairperson of the International Cricket Council (ICC), along with Indian cricketers Rohit Sharma, Suryakumar Yadav, and Hardik Pandya. The meeting took place shortly after his arrival in Mumbai and included a friendly exchange, photo opportunities, and the presentation of a personalised Team India jersey titled “DUBAI 11”.
Dressed in a sharp black suit, Sheikh Hamdan posed with the cricket stars and later shared images of the gathering on his official Instagram account. His post, written in Hindi, translated to “a memorable meeting with Team India” and quickly went viral across social media platforms.
The three cricketers currently represent the Mumbai Indians in the 2025 Indian Premier League (IPL). They had just participated in a match against Royal Challengers Bengaluru at Wankhede Stadium, which ended in a narrow 12-run defeat for Mumbai. The team, historically one of the most successful IPL franchises, has had a difficult start this season with four losses in their first five matches, placing them eighth on the points table.
Among the players, Rohit Sharma is facing a challenging phase, having scored just 38 runs across four matches.
